Making A Schedule

I have “finalized” over 100 schedules in the past 20 years—none of which I’ve been able to stick with.

In the past month, I’ve made (and improved upon) my schedule a dozen times—thinking I was done with each carnation, at every interval.

No so!

I have learned, though that I get stubborn regarding this fact, that I have to work hard on everything that I do!

I work harder than what some people have to, just in order to churn out something “basic.”

And, just when I think I am done with something (i.e. schedule), I am usually proven wrong!

But, that’s okay…

I am a perfectionist, and I try to balance perfectionism with the notion, that I will give/get the most value out of something that I put the most work into!

Now, I don’t know if that makes any sense to the person who might be labeling me as a “perfectionist,” but…

That is my goal…

Are any of you perfectionists? In any case, how do YOU handle perfectionism?

  1. Thanks for all of your “Good Work.” I’m sure it’s appreciated by many. It’s good to do one’s best, even to perfection sometimes, or not, but it’s all really quite good. Your posts here are great reminders that we don’t have to be doomed if we happen to be “Mentally Ill.”

  2. I make plans for what I want to do, but aside from scheduling one-off tasks like running errands, I don’t plan the when. I can reasonably predict what I can do, but illness makes the when far too unpredictable.

I love this bit and you’ve said it perfectly! I feel as though I have to work really hard on everything and then when it’s done, I have to go over it with a fine toothcomb. Even when I’m writing just one post, it can take me all of two days and the amount of ‘edits’ on each one is ridiculous. I wish I could just type then edit once and publish!

So there’s no way I could schedule posts 😦 Which I’d like to cos when I’m physically sick, I’m unable to post anything 😦
